LED Retrofits & Utility Incentives in Chicago, IL
As a ComEd Energy Efficiency Service Provider we file Standard indoor lighting at $0.80 per watt reduced on DLC SSL v5.1 fixtures, with controls stacked, a 90% project-cost cap, and a reservation letter when the request is $10,000 or more. Accounts under 400 kW peak may qualify for Small Business coverage, typically 50–75% of project cost. We have quoted logistics & distribution and food processing facilities throughout Cook County.
Why Chicago Businesses Choose Leader Lights
Chicago LED projects use ComEd Standard or Small Business — not a Michigan-style full buy-down.
Leader Lights has completed 5,000+ commercial projects over 15+ years and files Illinois lighting work as a ComEd Energy Efficiency Service Provider. Chicago jobs are permitted locally — Illinois has no statewide electrician license.
$0.80 per watt reduced
ComEd Standard indoor LED. Small Business (under 400 kW) typically covers 50–75% of project cost. Naperville uses IMEA then a $25,000 city cap.
We file as a ComEd EESP
Standard applications, reservations over $10,000, and assigned incentive checks. Instant Discounts cover TLEDs and downlights — not the Standard worksheet.
ICC installer rules
When a measure incentive is $300 or more, Illinois requires an ICC Energy Efficiency Measures Installer certificate unless the customer self-installs.
DLC v5.1 fixtures
Fixtures must be on the DesignLights Consortium solid-state list and operate at least 520 hours a year.
